Interaction Design and Children
26th Conference
June 21–24, 2027 · Seattle, USA
We are pleased to announce the 26th annual ACM Interaction Design and Children (IDC) Conference will be taking place during the beautiful Seattle summer from June 21-24th at the University of Washington. IDC is the premier international conference for researchers, educators and practitioners to share the latest research findings, innovative methodologies and new technologies in the areas of inclusive child-centered design, learning and interaction.
As of late, youth are often forced to engage with technologies that they may not have desired in the first place. Hegemonic technological advances have made both adults and children feel powerless, and fighting back often feels out of reach. For these reasons, we made the theme of this year's IDC young hearts be free: a message to empower young people in resisting the forces telling them who they are and aren't allowed to be, and to pursue new ways of engaging with the rapidly changing world around them.
